Low Power Pourables
Magnetic Series
Resin Systems RS-4000MP series pourable casting compound is a formulation of carbonyl iron particles dispersed in an epoxy matrix. It is a magnetic-type castable that exhibits high losses at microwave frequencies as well as a high dielectric and magnetic loss tangent. Typical attenuation values of 35dB/in., 75dB/in. and 130dB/in. are available using RS-4200MP, RS-4375MP and RS-4650MP respectively, with an operating range of -65°C to 120°C*. Other formulations with corresponding attenuation values are available on a custom order basis.
In addition to this standard RS-4000MP series material, we offer pourable versions of our silicone based flexible (RS-4000MP-SF) and our urethane based flexible (RS-4000-MP-UF) on a custom order basis.
The RS-4000MP series pourable is supplied as a two-part system consisting of an iron-epoxy matrix and a catalyst. This system allows the user to mix in the optimum batch size.
For those applications where the above Resin Systems series of materials are not permissible, we continue to offer on a custom order basis the EMA-8000 series of materials, previously manufactured by the Electronautic Division of Dielectric Communications.
*Maximum operating temperature dependent on configurations.
Non-Magnetic Series
The RS-4000NMP series is intended for specific spplications where non-magnetic properties are requried in shielding, terminations or attenuators.
This non-magnetic series pourable casting compound is a formulation of silicon carbide in an expoxy matrix. It is a non-magnetic castable that exhibits high losses in microwave frequencies. Attenuation values of 18dB/in. and 25dB/in. at 10 GHz available with RS-4100NMP and RS-4150NMP respectively, suitable for use from -65°C to 120°C*.
